Grillers Mark is looking for a dedicated and passionate Chef to lead our kitchen team. If you have a flair for creating high-quality dishes and thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes and gourmet burgers: Ensure consistency in taste and presentation across the menu, from steaks and chicken grills to our signature burgers.
2. Menu development: Collaborate with management to create new, innovative dishes and seasonal specials that align with customer preferences and market trends.
3. Oversee kitchen operations: Manage day-to-day kitchen activities, including food preparation, portion control, and plating, while maintaining smooth and efficient service during peak times.
4. Maintain food safety and hygiene standards: Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen.
5. Inventory management: Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to reduce waste.
6. Train and lead kitchen staff: Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation are met at all times.
7. Adapt to dietary requirements: Prepare and adjust meals for customers with specific dietary needs, including gluten-free and plant-based options, without compromising on taste or quality.
Requirements:
1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
2. At least 2 years of experience as a Chef, preferably in a grill-focused or modern Australian restaurant.
3. Proficiency in preparing grilled meats, burgers, and a variety of side dishes.
4. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices in a commercial kitchen.
5. Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage kitchen operations effectively.
6. Creativity and passion for developing exciting new menu items.
7. Ability to work efficiently under pressure, particularly during busy service periods.
