Our valued client SMW Group is a proud Central Queensland provider of field servicing, maintenance and emergency repair / rebuild services with over 10 years’ experience servicing the Central Queensland region.
They are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their highly skilled and qualified mechanical maintenance team in servicing and maintaining fleet and heavy equipment.
Duties include but will not be limited to:
Perform precision fitting, assembly, and installation of mechanical components and machinery
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure machinery operates smoothly
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently to minimise downtime
Collaborate with project manager, engineers, and other team members to meet project goals
Conduct quality checks on completed works to ensure specified requirements are met
Ensure maintenance and repairs are carried out using proper safety guidelines to ensure job rework do not occur
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair works
Adhere to all safety standards and procedure to ensure a safe working environment
To be considered for this role you must have:
Trade qualification
Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
Good IT and diagnostic skills
Physically fit
Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Good organisation skills
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
A minimum of two years post trade experience, preferably with earth moving machinery experience.
