Welfare Worker - Aspire Homes
Location: Regional NSW (Wagga/Tamworth)
Full-time
On call Hours: Full-time
Position Purpose: Team Leader under SCHADS Award to supervise and support youth workers in
alternative accommodation for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as operational link between youth workers and House Managers.
- Oversee care team in positive behaviour support and daily schedules.
- Collaborate with House Manager on safety, welfare, and case plan goals.
- Manage daily requirements and communicate concerns to House Managers.
- Ensure financial compliance and maintain expenditure records.
- Be available for after-hours Emergency On-Call duties.
- Attend training and supervision sessions.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Provide youth work support and communicate daily routines.
- Develop staff rosters and facilitate effective handovers.
- Assess risks and provide crisis counselling for vulnerable youth.
- Support compliance with financial approvals and WHS issues.
- Complete daily reporting and involve youth in decision-making.
- Facilitate team meetings and encourage training participation.
- Analyse needs of children in care and tailor programs accordingly.
- Role-model appropriate behaviour and maintain punctuality.
- Foster a positive team culture and build professional relationships.
- Exhibit strong organisational skills and adaptability.
- Experience working with diverse youth needs; commitment to professional development.
Qualifications & Experience:
-Bachelors Degree in Youth Work, Welfare work, Community Services, or relevant qualification
preferred.
-At least two years full time experience in a similar role.
