With two offices located in Katherine & Darwin, JMJ Disability Serv Pty Ltd is looking for experienced permanent full-time Disability Support Worker - House Team Leader (DSW/HL). The DSW/HL acts as a point person in the house of assignment whilst major fulBlling the role of a disability support worker. Annual salary ranges from $72,000 - $82,000 relevant to their qualifications and demonstrated experience.
Qualification & Work Experience
• Minimum Certificate III equivalent in Individual Support or related disability support/community service. Diploma
equivalent degree is desirable.
• Minimum 1-year (20 hours per week or more) post-qualification work experience.
• Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or challenging behaviours is viewed favourably.
• Valid full Driver’s License
• A cleared Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Clearance.
Key responsibilities
Service provision:
• Support client engagement in community activities which will enhance quality of life through the provision of person-
centric care
• Work cooperatively with the coordinator of services in developing effective communication and productive relationship
with clients
• Supervise or provide a wide range of personal care services to clients under limited supervision either individually or as
part of a team of the part of the delivery of disability services.
• Support clients' goals and aspirations whilst maintaining an environment free from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and
other misconduct
• Provision of care in line with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Code of Conduct and in compliance with
the NDIS quality and safeguard commission.
Collaboration:
• Work with relevant team to develop person-centred approach for clients
• Participate in case reviews to determine the needs and wellbeing of the client
• Attend staff meetings, operations meetings, and other relevant stakeholders meetings as required.
Record keeping and administrative task:
• Monitor clients' wellbeing and progress reporting
• Perform administrative duties
• Regular house audit reporting and compliance to any other report required.
Team management:
• Supervise disability support workers (DSW) to ensure clients are provided with support and service that are in line with
the NDIS Code of Conduct, quality and safety, and relevant company policies and procedure
• Regular coaching and feedback to DSW in the team
