Orion Care is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (Medical) to join the Orion Care team. The successful candidate will provide contemporary and professional clinical oversight to all clients and will build meaningful relationships with clients and to honour their individuality and citizenship. Registered Nurse will support clients to achieve their best life and will coordinate care and care services, supervision and supports to clients living within the community.

This role is perfect for a dedicated nurse looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse care needs. You will work with the DSW team and other health professionals to maximise the individual's physical and mental wellbeing and will be responsible for ensuring a safe, supportive environment for clients.

Qualifications and Experience:
• bachelor degree or higher qualification in the relevant field
• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care

In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Provide nursing care that is client focused and empowers the client to make decisions about individual on-going health care.
• Provide clinical nursing care; including but not limited to, health assessments, development of health support plans, performing procedures in accordance with the health support plans, organisational policy and scope of own practice as a registered nurse.
• Provide ongoing complex clinical expertise and assessment to ensure clients with complex health needs are supported in a way that reflects their individual needs
• Liaise with other hospital teams and other health professionals to achieve best clinical outcomes.
• Monitor activities relating to the cleaning and routine maintenance of medical equipment and liaise with the CHM for all maintenance requirements
• Be responsible, and take appropriate action, for clients in the event of emergency situations involving acute illness or injury
• Encourage and assist clients to pursue their own individual interests, hobbies and friendships, and to exercise choice, initiative and self-expression
• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of client specific health support plan and strategies within agreed timeframes
• Ensure that all required client records are accurately maintained, including client support plan, health plan, health care records, medical histories
• Support staff in medication administration, and support quality improvement processes
• Provide clients and their families with information, guidance, and support about treatment plans, ensuring they are well-informed and comfortable with the care provided.
• Identify opportunities for improvement to systems, processes and work practices within the work area
• Provide support and advice to clients and disability support workers regarding health care issues


To be successful in this role you must:
• Experience in delivering nursing care in a medical or community setting.
• Strong clinical judgement, assessment, and care planning abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• A genuine passion for helping individuals lead healthy and independent lives.
• Have excellent relationship building
