Metso is seeking a motivated, highly technical Service Technician to join our high achieving Service team specialising in Filtration, Grinding Mills, Fixed Plant Equipment Inspection, Maintenance and Repairs for Flotation Cells and Thickeners. Additionally experience in Hydraulics will be looked at favourably.
TEAM YOU BELONG TO:
You will join a team of high achieving Service Technicians dedicated to providing technical liaison services between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The successful applicant will play a crucial part in performing and coordinating service activities relating to our equipment, spares, and wears, and providing customers with technical services support in conjunction with our sales team. In addition to this, other key responsibilities will include;
Provide hands-on mechanical service work in the field to Metso customers.
Provide technical liaison services between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.
Perform technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures.
Promote products and services to customers.
Promote the sales of OEM spare parts and wearing material components.
Supervise and oversee Field Service shutdowns and projects on customer sites.
Complete field machine inspections per global and customer procedures. Escalate questions and analysis to Technical Support and Engineering.
Prepare post site visit reports, time sheets and expenses after site visits.
Support quotation work by providing scope of work, initial planning, and costing information.
Promote Technical Support value add and support Technical Support Teams.
Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where applicable.
Identify equipment in the field at the customer site that is not in our installed base and provide data for input into our CRM system.
ABOUT YOU:
A Mechanical trade qualification from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the Mining industries working Filters, Grinding Mills, Flotation and Thickeners.
Task experience to include but not limited to: Drive line installation and alignment, gearbox replacement.
Basic rigging and dogging understanding.
Basic computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel.
Must have current motor vehicle license.
Must be physically fit and able to pass random medical and drug tests.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
Ability to travel, within short notice.
Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents including construction and machine drawings.
Clearly understand and competency in Risk management and safety rule compliance.
Operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to complete basic engineering calculations such as basic algebra, geometry etc.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
