Position Overview:
CityHeroes Pool & Billiards is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team. As Sydney's largest pool and snooker hall, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our customers, offering a range of entertainment including pool, snooker, mahjong, and darts. The Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our business, providing accurate financial reporting and analysis, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and provide forecasts for revenue and expenditures to support business planning.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
Payroll Management: Manage payroll processing, ensuring compliance with taxation laws and proper documentation of employee payments and benefits.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns, including GST, PAYG, and other statutory obligations, working closely with external tax advisors when necessary.
Audit and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, assist in internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
Cost Control: Identify opportunities for cost savings, analyze operational efficiency, and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to assess the profitability of different aspects of the business, including pool and snooker operations, mahjong room, and darts, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure the business meets its financial obligations, and recommend strategies for maintaining liquidity.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the entertainment or hospitality industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks).
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders, including management, staff, and suppliers.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial transactions and reports.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies or inefficiencies.
