Overview:
Leaf Café & Co. Bondi Junction is seeking a skilled and dedicated full-time cook to join our team. The cook will play a vital role in the preparation and execution of our diverse and innovative menu, ensuring all dishes meet Leaf Café & Co.’s high standards of quality and consistency. This position is integral to the café’s kitchen operations and will contribute significantly to delivering an exceptional dining experience to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items, including breakfast, lunch, and specialty dishes, in line with the café’s established recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all dishes are prepared to meet customer preferences, dietary requirements, and the café’s high quality benchmarks.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in compliance with health and safety standards.
Manage kitchen inventory, including monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing food waste.
Work closely with the Head Chef (or franchisee) to develop, refine, and adjust the menu to meet customer demand and seasonal changes.
Train and supervise kitchen assistants, ensuring all kitchen staff adhere to best practices and food safety guidelines.
Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that the kitchen complies with local food safety regulations.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Certificate IV in commercial cookery.
Minimum 2 years working experience working as a cook, preferably in a fast-paced café or restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, kitchen operations, and inventory management.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and presentation quality.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
