We are seeking highly skilled Floor Finishers to join our team on a full time and permanent basis
The role includes but is not limited to:
Reading plans and instructions of specific projects
Measuring areas to be covered and consulting plans to estimate quantities of floor covering materials required
Preparing surfaces for covering and removing baseboard trims
Removing existing flooring and discarding of this material, if applicable
Clearing the work surface from dust, debris, and obstructions
Preparing the work surface by applying adhesive, grouting, or other appropriate materials
Measuring, cutting and fixing underlay materials
Laying coverings, such as wood, carpets, linoleum, parquetry blocks, cork tiles and other resilient flooring materials, over floors, matching patterns, cutting shapes around fixtures and trimming edges
Securing floor coverings and fitting edge trims in doorways
Sanding, staining and applying finishing coatings to timber floors
Completing the installation by applying appropriate finishes
May install wall, ceiling, counter and bench coverings
Managing stock of components parts
Managing quality control of all products
Ensure safe workplace, general warehouse upkeep
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
Trade qualified
Knowledge in operating wide range of hand tools and power tools
Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work
Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace
Strong communication skills
Excellent reporting skills
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
Must have great work ethics
