Key Responsibilities:
Fault Detection and Diagnosis: Use specialized tools and techniques to detect and diagnose faults in engines, transmissions, and other vehicle parts.
Component Dismantling and Repair: Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components as needed, checking parts for wear or damage.
Part Replacement and Reassembly: Repair or replace worn and defective parts, reassemble mechanical components, and follow service manuals to ensure the correct procedures are followed.
Scheduled Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, and fluid checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with pollution regulations.
Testing and Adjustments: After repairs, test and adjust mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and safety standards.
Vehicle Inspections: Inspect vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or detail necessary work to achieve roadworthiness.
Use of Diagnostic Tools: Utilize computerized equipment to diagnose and test vehicle parts, ensuring a thorough and accurate assessment.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Certificate IV in Automotive
Minimum 1 year experience in the role
In-depth knowledge of automotive mechanics
Ability to work with a wide range of vehicle makes and models
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with mechanical tools and computerized diagnostic systems
Ability to follow service manuals and comply with safety regulations
