About CDK Stone and the Role
For over 40 years, CDK Stone have been providing total support to the stone industry. We install, service and maintain a wide range of industrial CNC stone processing machinery and software for customers across Australia.
With a history of hiring and developing people from outside our industry and progressing them within the business, we are now looking for our next Entry Level Software Technician to join our Service Department in Melbourne.
From 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, you will add significant value by
*Investing time in learning and developing knowledge of SeKon and StonePro (CAD/CAM) software.
*Troubleshooting any issues with the CAD/CAM software including providing support to customers on-site or remotely.
*Managing the final installation, roll-out as well as training stakeholders on how to use the software depending on the type of software and requirements for the customer.
*Conducting walk-throughs of the customer’s factory to understand what machinery they are currently using, then customising software solutions based on their needs and existing workflows.
*Communicating with key suppliers about new software updates and educating customers and the team on the differences in the updated software.
*Travelling interstate when required to assist customers with any issues, training or software installations.
The salary range for this role is between $75,000-$110,000 depending on experience.
Why You Want to Work Here
*We have a reputation for hiring people from outside our industry. So, don’t worry if you’re not familiar with the stone industry—your strong analytical ability gives you the potential to grow in the role and eventually become a CAD/CAM technical expert.
*We care about our people and are committed to developing them the right way. As such, we have a deliberate training approach where you will receive structured guidance from senior technicians. This will enable you to gradually increase your competency until you are ready to work autonomously.
*Plenty of career progression opportunities! As you become an expert in the installation and troubleshooting of our CAD/CAM software, you will have the chance to increase your salary over time and may even have the opportunity to train and mentor new technicians entering the business.
About You
*You may have experience in the drafting side of production and have always been fascinated by how a CAD drawing can be sent to a CNC machine to produce remarkable results.
*While you enjoyed working with CAD/CAM, you're now seeking a role that involves less time behind a desk and something that allows you to contribute more to the broader operations of a production workflow. Progressing into an expert advisor role in CAD/CAM software is something that excites you!
*You have a natural inclination for problem-solving, whether it's resolving issues that arise within CAD systems or troubleshooting problems at home with appliances like your washing machine, dishwasher, or coffee machine. Either way, you take pride in identifying the fault and repairing the issue yourself.
Selection Criteria
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be able to tick the list below.
*Current and unrestricted driver’s licence
*Interest in CAD/CAM software
*Willingness to travel interstate
