Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Systems Technician to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, testing, commissioning, programming, and servicing a wide range of security systems, including alarms, CCTV, intercom, access control, and integrated systems. We require a candidate with extensive hands-on experience, relevant certifications, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Installation, Testing, Commissioning, and Programming of a wide range of alarm/security systems, CCTV systems, intercom systems, access control, and integrated systems. Experience with Tecom Challenger Systems, Integriti, Bosch, and Tecom C4 is essential.
• Servicing and Preventative Maintenance for alarm and CCTV systems to ensure optimal functionality and security compliance.
• Technical Support & Liaison: Engage with key clients on technical and service matters, providing clear, concise communication, provide ad-hoc quotes and delivering high-quality customer service.
• Security Reports & Matrices: Assist management in the preparation of security reports, system matrices, and relevant documentation to maintain accurate records
• Field Troubleshooting & Repairs: Attend service call-outs promptly, diagnose, and resolve technical issues for various security system components.
• Independent Work: Demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised, with strong attention to detail, while adhering to industry standards and client expectations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the technical team to manage service tickets and client inquiries efficiently.
Technical Skills & Selection Criteria:
• Current Certifications in Security Systems installation and maintenance are mandatory.
• Valid Security Licence to perform relevant security system work.
• Open Registration Cabling Licence to ensure compliance with telecommunications cabling requirements.
• White Card for Construction Induction Safety Certification.
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence for on-site service calls.
• Working with Children Check to work in child-safe environments.
• Minimum 2-3 years of industry experience as a Service Technician, with a strong focus on electronic security systems.
• Technical Expertise in systems such as Tecom, Integriti, Inception, Concept, SALTO Access Control Systems, Hills Reliance, Paradox, and Bosch Alarm Panels.
• Advanced Knowledge of various CCTV systems (Analogue & IP) including Milestone, Digifort, Hikvision, Dahua, Samsung, Pelco, and Axis.
• Experience with IP video and intercom systems.
• Ability to conduct staging, installation, commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting for all aspects of electronic security and system integration.
• Experience working with local governments and diplomatic missions is highly regarded.
• Experience providing quotations and assisting with project planning and execution.
