Position: Chef- Full time
Available number of positions: 2
We are currently looking for two (2) full-time chefs for our small, but a busy restaurant located in Canberra, ACT.
Salary $73150 per year+ Superannuation
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Assisting head chef in design of seasonable and specials menu.
• Preparing, cooking & seasoning dishes demonstrating cooking techniques.
• Examining the food to ensure the quality & quantity of food & ensure customers needs are met.
• Maintaining the smooth operation of various cooking equipment, such as ovens, grills etc.
• Contribute to stock control, rotation, and accurate recording of deliveries.
• Maintaining OH&S and hygiene in the workplace working in commercial kitchen.
• Supervising & training other kitchen staffs where needed.
We are looking for the following additional abilities among the candidates:
At least 1-2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen
Candidates with Relevant Qualification- C IV in Cookery or higher with Diploma of Hospitality will be given priority
Somebody who has experience with Asian cooking. Good at Malaysian and Chinese cuisine is an advantage.
Somebody who has experience using a wok is a bonus.
Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
The ability to work well under pressure with excellent time management.
