Job Title: Full-time Indian Chef
Salary: $75500 plus superannuation
Duties and Skills
• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including snacks, curries, and desserts.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and refine existing recipes.
• Develop and plan diverse menus while estimating food and labor costs.
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met and maintained.
• Supervise kitchen staff and assist in training new team members.
• Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards
• Work alongside the management team
• Coordinating and managing the orders of the stock as required
Qualification and Experience:
• Possess excellent relevant post-secondary hospitality (cooking) qualifications, to at least Diploma level.
• Have at least three years professional experience or more.
• Are available across the working week including weekends and Public Holidays.
• Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
• Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
• Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
• Understand cost control, time management, prioritization, and cost-efficient procurement practices.
• Passion for food and commitment to high standards of quality and hygiene.
• Strict compliance towards food safety
