Foundry Process Engineer

VEEM is on the lookout for a committed Foundry Process Engineer/Technician to help us fine-tune and improve our production processes in our non-ferrous foundry. You'll play a key role in making sure our metal casting, alloying, and machining operations consistently hit the mark for quality, efficiency, and precision, while also pushing for ongoing improvements in everything we do.

Responsibilities:

Lead engineering activities to support capital projects, process improvements, and product design developments, contributing to the company's innovation and growth.
Manage projects with a focus on timely and efficient delivery, ensuring that all outcomes align with priorities.
Be a proactive member of the Technical Team, identifying opportunities for preventative maintenance, process improvements, and innovations in production equipment.
Design and develop project plans, including costing and feasibility assessments, to bring new ideas and improvements to life.
Investigate and resolve issues by monitoring root causes, making recommendations for improvement to Technical Management.
Support post-casting processes such as heat treatment, mechanical testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Undertake NATA Certified chemical analysis, NATA Certified Mechanical testing and post casting treatments.
Maintain and audit key process controls within the foundry to ensure consistent quality and adherence to specifications.
Collaborate closely with the VEEM team to optimize production processes, ensuring that castings meet specifications while being cost-effective.
Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering and Metallurgy
Extensive experience in the metalworking industry, with a strong focus on alloying, casting, machining, and quality control.
Proven track record of working in a non-ferrous foundry environment
In-depth knowledge of metal testing and quality assurance techniques
Hands-on experience with machining and grinding tools, coupled with strong mechanical aptitude.
Familiarity with health and safety standards in a production or foundry setting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
