Programmed, in partnership with Tweed Shire Council have exciting opportunities for a 1 st Year New Entrant Signs and Graphics Apprentice commencing January 2025.

We are seeking motivated applicants that have a passion for graphic arts, creativity, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, confident with computers, versatile and adaptable. This Apprenticeship is a 3 year commitment whilst learning to multi task across a variety of skills in sign manufacturing.
Working as an Apprentice in this trade may see you completing the following tasks:

Assist in general sign writing using computer programs.
Assist in general sign construction.
Assist in general installation and painting.
Preparing and laying out designs and lettering.
Measuring and calculating letter sizes and graphics.
Preparing surfaces.
Applying paint backgrounds by brush, spray or roller.
Applying designs onto wood, metal or glass surfaces.
Re-painting and retouching signs on site.

To be considered you must have the following:

Competent numeracy & literacy skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated competencies in computer skills.
Demonstrated interest in Graphic Arts and C.A.D is desirable.
Current Drivers Licence and reliable transport.
Completed Year 10 Education at a minimum.
General Construction Induction Card (White Card) prior to commencement.
Demonstrated capacity to work as a team member.
Demonstrated capacity to work safely with a zero harm attitude.

Location:
The position can be directed to work anywhere within the Tweed Shire, and is currently based out of the Murwillumbah facility.
TAFE Requirements:
You will be required to complete unit competencies both written and on the job assessments to achieve the qualification.
