Programmed, in partnership with Tweed Shire Council has an exciting opportunity for a 1 st Year New Entrant Electrical Apprentice commencing January 2025.

Programmed are seeking motivated applicants that have a great eye for detail, are technically minded with a strong commitment to safety, have a passion for the electrical industry and the drive to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship.
As a full-time Apprentice, you may be eligible to receive a total of $5,000 in Government incentives under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentive System.
Working as an Electrical Apprentice at Tweed Shire Council may see you completing the following tasks:
Read electrical, architectural and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to establish job requirements.
Plan the layout of wiring systems.
Test for, locate and repair electrical malfunctions.
Install electrical and electronic control systems and insulated cables.
Assemble and fabricate electrical and electronic components and appliances.
Connect electrical equipment to power supplies.
Connect switches, outlets and other fittings.
Connect circuit breakers.
Maintain automated production processes.
Work as a team member.
Attend safety Toolbox Talks, contribute to the team's safety.
To be considered you must have the following:
Completed year 12 education.
Competent numeracy and literacy skills.
Positive attitude.
Current drivers licence and reliable transport.
General Construction Induction Card (White Card) prior to commencement.
Ideally completed a Cert II in Electrotechnology.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for the electrical industry.
Demonstrated capacity to work as a team member.
Demonstrated capacity to work safely with a zero-harm attitude.
Work location:
The position is based in the Mechanical and Electrical Facility in Chinderah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
TAFE Requirements:
You will also be required to attend TAFE one day per week in Lismore/Alstonville NSW (Wollongbar TAFE). Travel assistance may be applicable through VTAS funding.
