Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has almost 50 years of proud history, and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and Deep Level Maintenance (DLM) facility based in Broadmeadow. About the position

The Service is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Aircrew Officers/Training and Checking Aircrew Officers to join our highly skilled team conducting helicopter aeromedical and search and rescue operations to the highest standard of safety and professionalism.
Based in Belmont, Tamworth or Lismore, our Aircrew Officers report to the Chief Aircrew Officer and operate on a 4:4 (2 day/2 night) roster pattern, while our Trainers report to our Head of Training and Checking and operate on a hybrid roster. There is an expectation that successful candidates live within 1 hour of their nominated home base and are willing to travel to other bases across northern NSW from time to time to support the operational requirements of the Service.

About You

To be considered for these roles, you will be a qualified Aircrew Officer with a minimum of 500 hours experience and who is well regarded within the industry. In addition, you will:

• demonstrate completion of aircrew IFR theory, down the wire training, HUET training, CRM training, communication and radio procedures training;
• meet the requirements of a CASA Class 2 medical;
• hold a senior first aid and advanced resuscitation certificate;
• hold a working with children check and relevant drivers licence.

Whist not essential, SAR/HEMS experience, completion of practical IFR examination, dangerous goods training, NVG qualification, winch endorsement and bronze medallion would be highly regarded.

To be considered for a role of Training and Checking Aircrew Officer, in addition to the above selection criteria, you will demonstrate a minimum of 1000 hours as an ACO in EMS operations, you will hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and demonstrate previous experience in a leadership capacity.
