The Opportunity

Our Australian Steel Markets business has an exciting opportunity to join the team as the Business Development Lead based in either Acacia Ridge QLD, Chullora NSW or Braeside VIC.

We’ve got a great product in TRUECORE® steel and we think it has so many more possibilities to deliver innovative solutions for light gauge steel (LGS) framing to the commercial building sector - that’s where you come in!

With your exposure to the commercial construction and building sector, you’ll be well placed to deliver key learnings and insights across our business and the broader industry in the benefits and usage of light gauge steel framing in commercial building applications.

Leading a team of two, you will have the opportunity to be part of a fantastic growth opportunity for our organisation and the broader commercial building sector – this role is part of a significant strategy and a priority growth area where you will identify and realise opportunities to generate interest and adoption of innovative construction systems using TRUECORE® steel in the commercial construction sector.

What Will You Do?

Leading and providing strategic direction to your team, you will plan and execute sales activity which includes co-ordination across customers and channel partners. You will be a facilitator and connector who drives commercial outcomes for our business and our customers.  This will see you:

  • oversee and manage relationships with key asset owners and commercial builders across the commercial and mid-rise residential segments 
  • coach and develop your team
  • research and target prospective customers and grow your network
  • build and maintain relationships with industry participants
  • facilitate relationships with, and supply from, related suppliers - strategically positioning products and overseeing strategic partnerships 
  • develop and execute customer strategies that generate preference for strategic products and applications with a primary focus on TRUECORE® steel 
  • maintain knowledge and understanding of segment dynamics and communicate these effectively within the business 

More About You

With your valuable understanding of the commercial construction /building sector, you are a skilled business developer who can identify opportunities and turn them into a reality. You will also bring:

  • an ability to uncover and build relationships and networks throughout the industry
  • exposure to working across different project lifecycle stages (e.g. development and delivery)
  • the ability to identify and clearly articulate a value and supply chain proposition
  • highly developed influencing and negotiation skills
  • a collaborative mindset to bring others in the business along with you, particularly when it comes to project opportunities
  • an inquisitive nature to explore our business and ‘connect the dots’ with your own knowledge
  • a desire to bring new and different ideas – viewing our today and being curious about what we need for the future
