Flexible working hours Task & Responsibilities Prepare and cook food while explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations. Plan menus, estimate food and labor costs, and order food supplies. Select and train kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and efficiency. Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation. Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on cooking procedures. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a clean kitchen environment. Preserve and freeze foods when necessary. Discuss food preparation with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff. Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and functionality. Control portions, reduce waste, and manage kitchen supplies efficiently. Collaborate on menu innovation and introduce seasonal changes. Determine preparation and service of food ensuring attractive presentation. Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment. Manage inventory and food supplies. Qualification & Experience Proven experience as a Chef with a minimum of 2 years of full-time work in a café or restaurant environment. Culinary qualifications such as a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and kitchen management. Creativity and passion for preparing high-quality dishes. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills.
