About the role
As a Sports & Leisure Attendant, this role assists guests with non-motorised Water sports and land-based activities in a friendly, safe, courteous, efficient and professional manner to ensure guests enjoyment and safety. Observing the Resort and Departmental objectives, standards and procedures with high regard for safety.
Your day to day
Daily responsibilities include the clean setup and pack down of beachfront and land-based operations, ensuring all equipment for non-motorised watersports—such as catamarans, windsurfers, kayaks, and stand-up paddles—is well-maintained and presented to a high standard. Provide instruction and guidance for guests on various activities, including nature walks, snorkel lessons, and deep-sea kayaking, while sharing accurate information about local flora and fauna. Maintaining a professional appearance and reporting any accidents or maintenance needs are also essential aspects of the role. Overall focus is on delivering a safe, enjoyable experience for all guests while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and professionalism.
What we need from you
We are looking for a candidate who presents a professional image in line with established standards and possesses knowledge and experience in non-motorised watersports and land-based activities. Flexibility for night, weekend, and holiday shifts is essential, along with a background in marine life and natural environments, as well as a commitment to five-star guest service. Experience with motorised boating is also a plus.
Intended commencement date for this position would be the 9th of December 2024, with the role being located on Hayman Island, Queensland.
Appropriate Australian working rights are required for this role.
What we offer
The base hourly rate for this position is $25.87 under the Hayman Island Enterprise Agreement, working a minimum of 38 hours per week across a 7-day roster with shifts spanning from early in the morning until later a night.
