Murray Cod are currently looking to recruit an experienced Aquaculture / Fisheries Technician to join their team in Stanbridge and Griffith NSW.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Load Auto Feeders / retrieve wasted feed and mortalities.
- Lift and Clean Nets
- Assist with harvest operations
- Conduct health checks, identify health issues (use of microscope) and treat ponds for parasite eradication.
- Perform water quality sampling / testing and interpret results.
- Carry out general housekeeping and maintenance on machinery, equipment and sites.
- Identify abnormal fish behaviour
- Maintain accurate data records in software (feed rates / mortality / treatments)
- Dispose of sick / injured fish in a humane manner.
- Move, grade, weigh fish.
- Conduct post - mortem and identify abnormalities
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills and Abilities
- Trade certificate or equivalent
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role
- Ability to work in team environment
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to perform manual work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Good observation and communication skills
Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
