We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our management team.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about pizza, sourdough and fermentation
- Can build and lead a strong team.
- Can write, present and implement a new menu (researched, costed, planned)
- Can deliver food cost and wage cost percentages
- Can implement and manage kitchen systems so the kitchen runs when they are not there.
- Can get the kitchen working efficiently – when its busy and when its quiet.
- leads by example, motivates the team and creates a high performance work culture.
- follows through with set tasks as they are assigned.
- is cool, calm and collected
We will require you to have proven skill and ability in managing food costs and wages.
To successfully secure a position with us, it is essential that you:
- Have a minimum 2 years previous experience in a role leading a similar kitchen
- Can implement, maintain and improve systems and procedures re deliveries, hiring, HACCP, ordering
- Are a team player and lead by example (eg doing the dishes if need be);
- Can control your temperament in stressful situations;
- Can set a high quality standard of food and ensure the standard is consistent7 days a week;
- Have attention to detail;
- Be able to manage a team of staff to ensure all staff are focused on a common goal, have a positive attitude to work, colleagues and customers;
- Maintain a consistently clean kitchen and store areas
- Possess professional presentation;
- Have great communication skills;
- Be proficient in ordering and stock control;
- Have a genuine passion to serve good quality and well-presented food;
- Work well under pressure;
- Can implement and maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards;
- Be positive and have a 'can do' attitude;
