Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, full-time Chef to join our dynamic team at Niche & Co. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in crafting creative, nutritious, and visually appealing dishes while upholding our commitment to food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide variety of vegan and health-conscious dishes, adhering to our menu's standards.
Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service delivery.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food presentation and quality.
Monitor food preparation processes to ensure consistency and compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Develop and create new vegan-friendly dishes and seasonal specials in collaboration with management.
Oversee inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels to avoid shortages or waste.
Ensure kitchen equipment is well maintained and promptly report any repairs or replacements needed.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and placement students, providing guidance on techniques and kitchen protocols.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and communicate any changes or updates to the menu.
Qualifications and Experience:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience as a Chef in a similar role, preferably with experience in vegan or health-conscious cuisine.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Excellent communication and team management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
Passionate about creating nutritious, beautifully presented dishes that cater to a variety of dietary needs.
Creative and innovative with a passion for vegan and health-focused cuisine.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
