Located in the Pilbara region of WA in the town of Roebourne, the Ganalili Transitional Housing Project will create and promote housing, training, and employment opportunities for local Aboriginal people. Supported by the North-West Aboriginal Housing Fund (NWAHF) and led by the Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation, the project places community decision making and aspirations at its centre. Program participants will have support and access to services that will help them to achieve their individual housing and career goals. The Co-Design Framework has been directed and created alongside community members and leaders, outlining the projects objectives and aspired outcomes. The facility itself includes self-contained units, a program administration and training centre and outdoor shared communal areas. This project is the first of its kind to take place in the Pilbara region of WA and with construction completed, the program is set to commence in November .
