The role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides clinical leadership and expertise within a multidisciplinary team located at the Renal North West Satellite Unit to improve the quality and continuity of care and support provided to clients.
This includes:
Working in partnership with Consultant Nephrologists, Nurse Unit Manager, Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Nurses and the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality nursing service and patient management in a satellite Renal Unit.
The provision of clinical leadership, and authoritative expertise in clinical care and interventions, as well as knowledge and guidance for individual case management, across renal replacement therapies including Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis and Transplantation.
Working in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure development of nursing practices within the Satellite Unit are consistent with the broader renal specialisation and addressing inconsistencies between nursing practice and policy.

Nurse led Outpatient Clinical Environment
Opportunity to work collaboratively with the entire renal team including Nurses, Consultants, Social Work and Allied Heath to provide a holistic approach to the provision of renal care, planning and management.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with Renal experience.
Holds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualifications in Renal nursing.
Conviction checks in the following areas:
crimes of violence
sex related offences
serious drug offences
crimes involving dishonesty
Identification check
Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
