Duties
• To participate in the day-to-day production of food and assist with the efficient, cost effective and smooth running of the kitchen.
• Assist in menu creation and innovation.
• Monitoring food production and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
• Adhering to food production and presentation standards, service procedures and service times.
• Ensuring proper food storage and stock rotation procedures are adhered to.
• Responding to and treating colleagues with professional respect and courtesy.
• Adhering to occupational health and safety guidelines, as outlined in the induction manual and other policies.
Required experience / qualifications
• Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent.
• 2-3 years experience in a commercial kitchen as a chef.
Required Skills
• Good communication and a willingness to follow direction.
• Excellent hygiene practices.
• Good work ethic.
• Efficient and organised.
• Attention to detail.
