The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Springhill Manufacturing facility is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator in our Coupled Pickled Cold Mill (CPCM) – Roll Shop Maintenance Team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers
The CPCM Roll Shop is a dedicated department responsible for maintaining rollers and side trimming blades used at our CPCM which is used to further process rolled steel. These rollers, ranging from 200kg to 25t, experience wear and tear and have a challenging life. Therefore, it is crucial to prioritise the maintenance of these rollers and surrounding equipment to ensure ongoing steel production.
This opportunity combines both your hands-on mechanical skills with your technical expertise to coordinate key outcomes in maintaining and developing equipment in the Roll Shop. You will also implement and enhance our maintenance strategies to achieve optimal equipment performance and reduce failures, all while championing a safety-first culture.
What Will You Do?
As a Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator, you will:
- supervise the day-to-day management of plant maintenance activities, including planning, organising, execution and review of maintenance
- coordinate and provide technical support to the maintenance resources within the section
- coach, mentor and develop maintenance personnel in manufacturing excellence principles and process, particularly around root cause and problem analysis and the development and execution of corrective actions
- participate in cost reduction and capital upgrade projects
- respond to the day-to-day Mechanical availability and reliability issues

- experience working in a similar industry within Mechanical Maintenance, with a focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability
