THE ROLE
As a Chef, you are responsible for preparing high-quality meals using your culinary expertise and creativity. You will manage kitchen operations, ensure food safety, and collaborate with other kitchen staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Your role requires strong leadership, a passion for food, and a commitment to maintaining the restaurant’s standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED, BUT WERE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
? Supervise the preparation of all food.
? Assist in menu preparation
? Ensure all food is prepared as per food preparation requirements.
? Ensure meals are produced on time, and enough are available for the various areas.
? Maintain stock levels of all kitchen supplies.
? Be available for functions as they arise to ensure that the food is prepared and
served as required.
? Oversee and supervise all kitchen staff.
? Ensure all staff are aware of their duties and what is expected of them.
? Teach new staff skills they require to perform their roles to the required standards.
? Delegate duties to the kitchen staff as per the menu requirements
? Oversee and monitor the work of kitchen staff to ensure all tasks are done as
required.
? Give staff feedback on their performance to enable staff development.
? Ensure any staffing issues are resolved fairly and quickly.
? Manage kitchen stocks.
? Ensure wastage is minimized by careful supervision of food preparation methods
? Ensure proper hygienic storage methods are utilized to prevent food loss.
? Ensure the security of all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink stocks
? Oversee the ordering and control of stock levels.
SCHEDULE
? 38 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS
At least 1-2 years of full-time experience as a Cook
Holds a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
In-depth understanding of kitchen operations and current food trends
Strong passion for delivering high-quality and consistent dishes
Committed to adhering to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Food Safety regulations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills within the kitchen staff
Prepare and cook menu items, ensuring they are of high quality and served on time.
