The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Metal Fabricator to join our production team. This is a permanent, full-time position based in [Location]. You will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal products to precise specifications while ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety. The role involves working with various metals, using both manual and automated equipment, and collaborating closely with the engineering team to bring designs to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate and assemble Manta Performance Exhaust systems and other metal components according to engineering specifications and project requirements.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine project scope.
Perform various welding processes (MIG/TIG), cutting, and grinding operations.
Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including CNC machines, press brakes, and welding machines.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet Manta’s high-quality standards and specifications.
Troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments during the fabrication process.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety procedures and guidelines.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and workflow.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
AQF Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in metal fabrication or a related trade.
Proven experience in MIG/TIG welding and the ability to work with different metals, including stainless steel and aluminum.
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and engineering plans.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Familiarity with operating CNC machinery, presses, and other metalworking equipment.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Desirable Skills:
Forklift license or other relevant certifications.
Experience in custom fabrication for unique and complex projects.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
