We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Chef to oversee our kitchen operations and deliver high-quality, delicious dishes to our guests. Key Responsibilities:
1. Menu Creation: Assist in developing and refining a menu that highlights traditional South Indian cuisine while incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients.
2. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including curries, biryanis, dosas, and more, ensuring each dish is prepared with precision and consistency.
3. Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and ensuring the kitchen complies with food safety and hygiene standards.
4. Team Supervision: Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
5. Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control over food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet the restaurant’s high standards of flavor, presentation, and portion size.
6. Cost Management: Monitor food costs, manage portion sizes, and reduce waste to maintain profitability without compromising food quality.
7. Customer Engagement: Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to understand customer preferences and feedback, adapting the menu to meet dietary requirements and enhance the dining experience.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Qualifications: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian restaurant or a setting that involves preparing South Asian cuisine.
3. Skills: In-depth knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and traditional recipes. Strong kitchen management skills and attention to detail.
4. Work Rights: Must have full working rights in Australia.
