Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Provision of clinical and medical administrative services under some degree of supervision (consistent with the level of experience)
• Formulation and implementation of patient management plans in line with evidence-based and cost effectiveness principles
• Coordination on in-patient management in conjunction with other health professionals
• Assistance in teaching responsibilities to interns, medical students and more junior colleagues
• Communication with other members of the multi-disciplinary team
• Surgical assistance
• Extensive communication with patients and their relatives
Experience and Qualifications
• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience as a registered medical practitioner for a minimum of 6 months in a hospital setting in - Australia, New Zealand, the United States of America, Canada, Ireland or the United Kingdom
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills which include the ability to interact and work appropriately with patients, their families, and an inter-professional health care team
• 5+ years practical experience
• Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical governance within health care
