The Mechanical Engineer is a key support to the maintenance and production team and will assist with planning, designing, organising, and overseeing the assembly, operation, and maintenance of mechanical and process plant and installations at Rombola Family farms.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Analysing workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies.
• Designing mechanical equipment, machines, components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for construction
• Developing specifications for the manufacture, and determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant and systems
• Organising and managing project labour and the delivery of materials, plant, and equipment
• Establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations
• Inspecting plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained.
• Directing the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules.
• Select, train, and supervise staff and contractors when required.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Relevant engineering qualification and relevant field-based research experience of 2 to 5 years.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Enjoy working outdoors, agriculture and the environment.
• Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and problem-solving skills
• To be able to perform tasks well alone as well as part of a team.
• Ability to analyse data and interpret trends.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Driver license.
