The Horticulture Farm Manager is a key support to the row cropping team and will assist with the planning, organising, controlling, coordinating and perform farming operations to grow crops at Rombola Family Farms.
Key operational accountabilities include:
• Planning and coordinating the production of crops.
• Selecting and purchasing seed for planting, planning, and implementing breeding programs
• Directing and overseeing general farming activities such as fertilising, and pest and weed control.
• Maintaining farm buildings, fences, equipment, and water supply systems
• Maintaining and evaluating records of farming activities, monitoring market activity, and planning production accordingly
• Assist in managing the business capital, monitoring market activity, and planning production accordingly.
• Select, train, and supervise staff and contractors when require.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Relevant horticulture qualification and relevant field-based research experience of 3 to 5 years.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Enjoy working outdoors, agriculture and the environment.
• Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and problem-solving skills
• To be able to perform tasks well alone as well as part of a team.
• Ability to analyse data and interpret trends.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Driver license.
