ROLE POSITION:
Bookings are encouraged and walk-in guests are welcomed where possible. Whether you are looking for a long lunch with clients, a casual dinner with friends and loved ones, a snack on your way home from the beach, or a well-deserved drink, we look forward to welcoming you to our humble dining room.
As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes, and maintaining a smooth workflow. Your responsibilities include overseeing food preparation, training and supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory, and ensuring that hygiene and food safety standards are strictly adhered to. You will collaborate closely with the culinary team to design and execute innovative menus, handle daily kitchen activities, and ensure timely delivery of orders during service hours. Additionally, you will assist in managing food costs, controlling waste, and optimizing kitchen efficiency. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for culinary excellence are key attributes for success in this role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
? Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards.
? Oversee food quality, presentation, and consistency in line with restaurant standards.
? Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
? Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor stock levels to avoid shortages.
? Collaborate with the culinary team in creating new menus and seasonal specials.
? Monitor and control food costs, waste, and portion sizes for maximum profitability.
? Ensure timely execution of orders during peak service hours.
? Handle kitchen equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions.
? Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and ensuring adequate coverage during shifts.

Salary: $75,000 to $80,000 + Superannuation
