Job Summary
Join our dynamic team at our Head Office located in Dee Why, a leading grocery store committed to providing quality products and exceptional service. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and driven Supermarket Buyer to oversee our purchasing operations, ensuring we meet the needs of our diverse customer base. The Supermarket Buyer is responsible for forecasting, negotiating, and purchasing products that align with our company's sales and marketing strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and a keen understanding of market trends to optimize our product offerings and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
· Forecast short to medium-term product needs and coordinate purchasing activities with suppliers to ensure stock availability and optimal pricing.
· Engage in regular negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous pricing and purchasing terms.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, strategizing on purchasing approaches and market trends.
· Analyse market conditions and recommend pricing adjustments to management to stay competitive.
· Coordinate delivery schedules to ensure timely product arrivals and manage inventory levels effectively.
· Assess new products and revise pricing strategies, considering both new and existing items in our lineup.
· Keep abreast of market trends, sales data, and stock levels to propose informed purchasing strategies to management.
· Plan and implement product and pricing strategies tailored to specific demographic and seasonal demands of each outlet.
· Lead and manage a team in designing and executing promotional displays and merchandising strategies, with hands-on implementation as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
· AQF Certificate III including at least 2 years of experience or on the job training
· Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
· Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
· Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
