Wollongong Auto Excellence located in Wollongong, NSW is now looking to hire a motivated individual to join their successful team as a Motor Mechanic.
The Role
As a Motor Mechanic, it is essential that you have the passion to carry out mechanical servicing duties in an effective and timely manner. Your primary role is to carry out testing, diagnosing and troubleshooting major faults and overhauling engines of motor vehicles and parts such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes of a wide range of motor vehicle types.
This is a full-time position with an annual salary set at $73,500 – $76,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
Changing of engine oil filters, fuel filter engine and transmission mounts.
Repairing or replacing worn and faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
Removing and fitting differential, repairing and servicing of differential and driving shafts.
Checking the overall electric power of various electric units such as headlight, parking light, sidelight, stop light, direction light, roof light etc.
Diagnosing, repairing and replacing engine management, fuel injection components, tuning engines and making fine adjustments for smoother running.
Coordinating with other mechanics where teamwork is needed.
Servicing cooling system, flushing and changing radiator, hoses and water pump, brakes, transmission.
Check and repair suspensions and wheel alignments of automotive vehicles.
Checking parts and referring to manuals as necessary.
Attending phone calls and putting the stock (for example brakes, sparkplugs, oil filters) at the proper places.
Reviewing work orders.
Maintain and manage tools, equipment and machinery in good conditio
The Requirements:
Cert III or Cert IV or Diploma or Advance Diploma in a related field
At least 2 years of relevant experience in a commercial workshop setting
Must have at least?2 years’ experience?working with?Intercontinental, European and Asian?car makes
Experience working with mechanical systems
Must know how to operate diagnostic equipment
Good with hand and power tools.
Capacity to solve issues/problem and find suitable resolutions
Excellent work ethic and ability to strive for goals
Hold a current driver's license and able to drive manual car.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
