Hays are partnering with a Federal Government Department seeking a APS6 SIEM, SOAR, and Cyber Threat Intelligence Engineer for an initial 12-month full-time contract with the possibility of extension. This client is open to candidates from all Australian states.
Your new role
This Federal Government Department is maturing its cyber infrastructure and advancing its IAM capability as part of its Cyber Uplift Program. This position will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and management of cybersecurity solutions.
Some of your day-to-day duties will include:
Supporting the creation of a scalable and resilient security event management system, including SIEM and SOAR platforms
Direct the deployment of the Commission's SIEM solution, leveraging the existing Splunk instance
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the threat intelligence solutions are fully integrated with other security and operational systems
Support the development of event management policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements including the Information Security Manual (ISM)
What you'll need to succeed
Australian Citizenship (must be able to obtain baseline clearance)
Comprehensive understanding of SIEM, SOAR, and CTI principles, frameworks, technologies (Splunk, Exabeam, OpenCTI etc.)
Experience in cybersecurity roles with a focus on SIEM, SOAR, and Threat Intelligence
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or specific vendor certifications (e.g. Splunk, LogRhythm)
