The Summit Café
We are looking for the services of a first class, experienced and passionate Chef to join our Brunswick Street team. With sustainability and quality of produce in mind, complete with the freshest ingredients from local suppliers, the successful Chef will take control of the daily operations of the kitchen to:
• Designing menus, calculating food and labour expenses, and sourcing food supplies
• Overseeing the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation
• Collaborating on food preparation concerns with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and wait staff
• Showcasing techniques and offering guidance on cooking methods
• Preparing and cooking meals
• Outlining and enforcing sanitation standards
• May recruit and train personnel
• May freeze and preserve food items
You will lead, guide and inspire a team of professionals to deliver an exceptional guest experience and further develop the business.
Deliver high quality dishes, consistently well, in a fast-paced, busy environment.
Work closely with the Head Chef and the national Executive Sous Chef to develop and implement exciting menus, with support from the Central Kitchen facility.
This is a pivotal role, reporting to an accomplished Head Chef and venue management team. We are looking for friendly and innovative ideas, as we build our remarkable reputation.
What we need:
We need a Chef to take control of the daily operations of the kitchen.
With a passion to deliver quality food consistently, the right candidate will be:
Reliable, level headed, punctual and organised.
Passionate about what they do, innovative and experienced.
Have experience in a kitchen serving a 150+ seat restaurant.
Work fast, clean and motivate team by leading by example.
Deliver high quality dishes, consistently well, in a fast-paced, busy environment.
Following and enforcing workplace health and safety requirement.
Working with head chef to meet the food and kitchen budget.
Experience will be of a distinct advantage, but a great attitude is a must.
