Mangoesmapping have an opening for a full time Geospatial Scientist with local government experience. This role requires performance of a wide range of spatial science requirements including GIS consulting, mission planning and execution for photogrammetry and survey hardware sales and related administrative necessities.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop, document and refine new processes and procedures for managing data flows in relation to civil engineering
Improve the delivery of technical and engineering solutions
Increase repeat business through customer satisfaction
Assist sales and technical staff across the organisation
Liaise with existing and potential civil engineering customers to develop technology solutions that are specific to their business requirements
Accountable for day-to-day operations, prioritisation and task coordination, and meeting project milestones, objectives and deliverables in relation to minor civil engineering projects
Refine and implement improvements to Mangoesmapping quality assurance policies and procedures
Have a strong understanding of GNSS surveying equipment and provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including assistance in preparing geospatial services and equipment proposals, along with associated technical advice.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor degree in civil engineering/GIS
Minimum 2 years of previous experience working with municipal utilities and AutoCAD
Practical hands-on experience in asset geospatial information management, particularly reviewing, managing and digitising as-constructed information
Experience working on utility asset data remediation at a network scale.
Experience managing the definition, projection, and application of different coordinate systems for engineering asset datasets preferably in MapInfo, alternatively in ArcGIS, QGIS or Global Mapper
Knowledge of data conversion, database management, and CAD>GIS asset data digitization and analysis workflows
Experience gathering, compiling, migrating and converting data sets for project needs from a variety of internal and external sources
Deep familiarity with technology used for field capture of assets (eg. RTK GNSS/Total Station hardware and field survey software such as 12D Field, SurvPC, SmartWorx Viva, Reachview etc.)
Previous consulting experience is an asset
Hold a current Remote Pilot license in the Multi-Rotor up to 25kg category, with a minimum of 15 hours of flight experience.
Be capable of mission planning and execution for photogrammetry and LiDAR data capture using RPA and remote sensing equipment.
Be proficient in post-processing photogrammetry and LiDAR data and delivering geospatial data using a range of software, including RedCatch REDToolBox, DJI Terra, TerraSolid TerraScan UAV, Pix4Dmapper, Pix4dmatic, and Pix4Dfields.
