Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Cooking dishes in accordance with the menus and recipes
- Ensuring consistency and quality of all dishes
- Keeping kitchen area clean and organised
- Complying with food safety and hygiene requirements
- Storing food and other inventory properly
- Working with other team members effectively
Qualification and Experience
- Certificate III or above qualification in commercial cookery or working towards it (Preferred)
- At least 3 years’ experience in commercial kitchen, preferably in Japanese restaurants
- Able to prepare dishes with precision and attention to detail
- Understanding and knowledge of traditional Japanese cooking techniques
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
