Duties and Responsibilities
- Cooking food and preparing ingredients
- Ensuring high quality of dishes is maintained
- Maintaining compliance with food safety regulations
- Developing menus, assessing expenses for food and labour, and ordering supplies
- Communicating and working with waiting staff
- Training staff as required by demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Inspecting and managing inventory to ensure freshness and minimise food wastage
Qualification and Experience
- At least 3 years of experience working in a professional kitchen as a Chef with a focus on Japanese cuisine
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Diploma of Hospitality Management (Preferred)
- Solid understanding of traditional Japanese cooking techniques
- Able to prepare dishes with precision and attention to detail
- Strong attention and respect for safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
