Public Sector People have partnered with a council in the western suburbs and would like to offer you the opportunity to join the Legal, Governance and Risk team as a Freedom of Information (FOI) and Legal Support Officer for a 3 month period.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and process FOI requests
Assess the requests in terms of the requirements contained in the FOI Act including: - Preparing clarification letters to applicants to ensure the request complies with the Act. - Requesting documentation from Council departments and assisting departments to understand the terms and requirements of the request.
Promoting awareness and understanding of FOI regulations within the organisation.
Key Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in processing FOI requests.
Strong understanding of FOI legislation and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
