Position Criteria
The Group is looking for skilled and experienced Motor Mechanics with a minimum of two years post-trade experience. As a Motor Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. If you are passionate about automotive engineering and possess a strong technical aptitude, we encourage you to apply.
• Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles to identify and assess mechanical issues.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including engine overhauls, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and electrical system troubleshooting.
• Utilise diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately diagnose complex automotive problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Follow manufacturer's specifications and industry standards to ensure high-quality repairs and service delivery.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service and repair activities.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in automotive technology and industry trends to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with clients to explain repair procedures and recommendations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with other team members, including service advisors and technicians, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Participate in training programs and workshops to further develop your technical expertise and stay updated with industry best practices.
• Helping the other mechanics and tech's day-to-day duties.
• Assisting manufacturers in diagnosing vehicles as required.
• Liaise with service advisors, parts department.
• Help training technicians (incl. apprentices)
To be successful within these roles you will possess the following skills and attributes:
• Relevant Trade qualifications; Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Equivalent
• Experience in one of the 14 brands is desirable however, not essential
• Excellent time management/organisational skills and attention to detail
• A willingness to learn and an appetite for challenge
• Demonstrated workshop experience in detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and electrics. (preferred, but not essential)
• C Class Manual Drivers Licence
