Southern Riverlands Poultry farms are located in the Boort area, growing for a large local poultry company. Southern Riverlands Poultry started its operations in 2019, that has a state-of-the-art SKOV equipment and Santrev housing. The site comprises of 2 farms with 8 sheds per farm. A vacancy currently exists for Assistant Farm Manager to look after 1 farm of 360,000 birds. This role will report to the Farm Manager. The successful applicant must be prepared to work on weekends and nights when needed to relief the farm manager
About the role
We are looking for an individual who can adapt to the demands of the farming environment which includes responsibility of livestock, feed management, bird collection, and placement, daily shed servicing, grounds maintenance, record keeping and other related industry bio-security requirements.
This is a hands on position working directly with birds and maintaining the property and would ideally suit an individual who enjoys working in a rural environment.
Salary, Benefits and perks
Salary range is $60,000 - $70,000
Additional performance based bonuses.
Skills and experience
- Have experience in the poultry industry preferred but not essential
- General farming experience will be considered
- Drivers license essential
- Ensuring all quality and maintenance standards are upheld
- Adherence to OH&S expectations
- You must be self-motivated and possess mechanical ability together with strong organizational skills
