McElligotts is in need of highly experienced and qualified EHS MANAGER
Primary Purpose:
To contribute to the safe work environment by planning, driving and measuring EHS initiatives across the organisation.
To proactively identify and mitigate risks and provide strategic input to the business.
Manage the McElligotts Environmental Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department
Be responsible for the management, implementation, operation, monitoring and review of the McElligotts EHS management system, with the goal of achieving work activities without incident, harm to personnel or damage to property or the environment
Achieve EHS performance improvements and regulatory compliance
Role includes but is not limited to:
Planning
Develop and implement the EHS strategy and high- level annual plans for the entire business
Develop, deliver and present EHS related findings and issues to the Board
Provide leadership and vision to manage the EHS responsibilities in the best interest of its shareholders and other stakeholders
Establish the organisational EHS management plan
Design training plans and implement of EHS initiatives across organisation
Driving a Culture of Safety and Sustainability
Facilitate and drive the reduction of significant injuries throughout the organisation
Provide EHS technical support to the relevant business divisions, including advising Operations Managers and coaching and mentoring site-based supervisors and employees
Ensure that the expectations are understood by all management teams and that the Commercial OHS/HSE and National EH&S plans include these expectations
Manage the audit program for Commercial operations and ensure that identified issues are integrated into the business and site EH&S Plans
Ensuring Workplace Safety
Review auditing and incident investigation procedures and issues
Consult and communicate with all levels of stakeholders
Establish procedures for safety/risk management, and emergencies
Reduce Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rates (TRIFR) to meet business targets
Corrective and preventive action reporting to senior management
Liaise with relevant authorities in respect to EH&S Issues.
Coach new managers and supervision joining the organisation to ensure they are aware of their EHS responsibilities
Liaising with clients on matters pertaining to EH&S
Serve as the primary external spokesperson on EHS issues
Training
Identify organisational EHS training needs and staffing requirements
Professional Development
Keep up-to-date with developments in the EHS field, including legislation, regulations, guidelines and best practice
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
Internal Audit Qualifications
Minimum 10 Years relevant experience
Highly Desirable Qualifications
Formal qualification or studying Frontline Management is preferred
Relevant Supervision Experience
Computer Literacy proficient in Excel and Word
Compile and present reports both verbal and written.
Salary: $80.000 - $100.000 per annum
