Doogood Powder Coating and steel products manufacturer is currently seeking to hire experienced and qualified Painting Trades Worker to commence in their manufacturing department in Hallam VIC 3803.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Prepare crane structures by erecting scaffolding required and preparing materials for coating including selection of appropriate suspension and access methods.
- Surface inspection, preparation and rectification of substrate anomalies including removing old coatings, filling crevices /cracks, smoothing and sealing.
- Identification and application of appropriate priming and protective treatments for the spraying and coating of structure and components.
- Selecting, preparing and applying coating materials including paint to comply with order requirements with respect to colour, finish and serviceability. Application of paints and coatings by the most appropriate methods and tools including the use of paint sprayers, rollers and brushes.
- Masking and protection on non -coated areas on parts as per identified customer requirements, including use of ladders and scaffolding to safely access parts. Protection of non – coated surfaces by the use of protective drop sheets or other coverings.
- Conduct quality control inspections and assessments of structure and components prior to coating and again prior to completion.
- Cleaning and maintenance of coating equipment and work areas to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills & Abilities:
- Certificate III in Surface preparation / Certificate III in Painting Decorating or relevant
- Ideally have 3 years’ experience within relevant or similar field
Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
