The Client
Land Air Sea Space is a specialist designer and manufacturer of electrical interconnecting systems. They are seeking a permanent and qualified Electrical Engineering Technician to join their engineering and operations team in Brookevale, NSW.


The Role
The positions will be based permanently in Brookevale, NSW and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. The Electrical Engineering Technician role is a full time position and is duly remunerated at an annual salary of $87,360 plus superannuation.


The Responsibilities
• Prepare drawings of electrical cables and ensure process specifications are accurate for production
• Supporting the engineering team with a problem solving approach in new design work of cable systems and intelligent electrical solutions
• Liaise with customers and provide samples of innovative and creative electrical design options
• Preparing quotations, including pricing of materials and establishing long lead items, that may potentially cause an engineering/production issue
• Ensuring that quotations of new innovative designs remain competitive from an engineering stand point, in the market place
• Organising the manufacture of proto-type articles ready for design inspection and ensuring the finished products are compliant with customer specifications
• Support the Production Manager with manufacturing problems in order for cable assemblies and installations to meet the customer delivery schedule
• Ensure all electrical equipment in the manufacturing workshop are correctly tested, calibrated and maintained, in line with regulations and safety standards
• Lead the repair, upgrade and testing of cable modification programmes
• Provide statistical information for Engineering Team improvements, including collection of data and graphical charts, displaying results and tests performance
• Application of exceptional communication skills are imperative within the Engineering Team and outside of the department, to enable work to be completed in a collaboratively manner; ensuring, leading and cost effective problem solving solutions are established
• Leading technical engineering support for off-site customer electrical installation requirements and ensuring regulations and safety standards are met


The Requirements:
• Tertiary qualifications in the Electrical Engineering discipline
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in a similar field
• At least 4 years experience in electrical cable technology
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 specialist accreditation
• At least 30 months of proven experience in manufacturing mil-spec cable assemblies
• Ability to manage complex technical issues;
• Exceptional knowledge and proven experience within electrical engineering systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
