Our client, Kurri Kurri Hotel Pty Ltd, is seeking talented and experienced full-time cooks for its newly opened restaurant in Kurri Kurri, NSW 2327.
Nestled in regional NSW, this venue embodies the essence of local culture, offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience. It is renowned for exceptional service and a menu that showcases the very best of modern Australian cuisine. By focusing on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant creates dishes that are not only creative but rich in flavour and sophistication. The roles are full-time with a salary ranging from 70-80K AUD per annum plus superannuation, negotiable for the right candidate.
Scope of the role:
- Regularly prepare, cook, and season various foods according to the menu.
- Portion and present food as required ensuring the set quality.
- Ensuring proper storage per controlled temperature guidelines.
- Estimate the quantities and costs of supplies needed, such as food and ingredients.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure they meet established standards.
- Support senior chefs in planning and developing recipes and menus by providing input and assistance, ensuring adaptability to changing internal and external factors
- Routine kitchen operations, including stock rotation, and necessary paperwork on a daily basis.
- Set up, clean, and organize workstations efficiently.
- Prepare ovens, utensils, and grills for shifts.
- Cook orders in compliance with food health and safety standards and dietary requirements
- Maintain a strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (WHS) and HACCP protocols.
To be considered for this role, you should
- Certificates III & IV in Commercial Cookery from Australia
- Have at least 2 years of work experience as a Cook in a similar cuisine
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety (WHS) and HACCP.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
