We are looking for a Chef to join our small team. We are looking for someone who is passionate, creative and wants to be an active team member.

Our pub is located in beautiful, tourist driven Bright. We are a busy local pub with large dining capacity. We operate 7 days a week for lunch, dinner, and drinks.

The successful candidate should have the following attributes:
Be able to work under pressure and able to take and give direction
Must be flexible and competent to work all sections of the kitchen
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Good time management skills
Assist the head chef with weekly duties including ordering, menu planning including specials and general running of the kitchen
Role and responsibilities

As a Chef the following is expected from you:
Report to the Head Chef / Venue Manager and assist and support them in any area of the kitchen as required
Preparation of all food on the menu
Attention to detail, ensuring that plates are of a high standard
Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets quality standards
Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
Manage and train kitchen staff, for the betterment of the kitchen
Comply with and enforce hygiene regulations and safety standards
Organise and manage cleaning schedule and meet food health and safety reporting regulations
Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
Show initiative, where appropriate
Show creativity through menu ideas in particular weekly specials
Be flexible to work within a small team and adapt to the surrounds of the new environment
Appropriate leadership skills, assist and be part of the team but also lead the way and show a good example
Time management skills especially during peak trading periods
Menu budgeting and costing
Stock-take, stock ordering and stock loss
Good communication with the Head Chef and the team
To perform other duties which are in line with the positions skills and experience as required from the manager from time to time
Presentation and grooming standards are adhered to

Chef must have a minimum 2 years’ full-time experience with relevant Diploma or higher. Without formal qualification, at least 3 years fulltime experience

Annual Salary $70,000 - $75,000 per annum
